charge of the construction of a flyover
in the area. The locals accused the company
for not putting up warning signals for the
motorists. Moreover, no security personnel
were posted near the site it was stated
by the localities.
The construction company fearing a public
outcry stopped the work in progress temporarily.
The HCC officials stated that the nature
of the accident will be investigated and
work will be halted until then.
The HCC official added, “Work on this
3-km stretch will resume only after the
completion of an inquiry by the safety department
of HCC.” He also added, “They
don’t pay attention to the security
staff posted here. We cannot block the traffic
as there is no alternative road.”
However, the workers were seen making a
silent exit soon after the incident on lookers
said.
