The final list of constituencies was announced by the DMK led front. Congress will retain most of the 2004 constituencies including Salem, Sivagangai, Dindigul, Mayiladuthurai and Tirunelveli. VCK has been given Chidambaram and Villupuram both of which are reserved constituencies. The IUML will contest from Vellore.
