Infosys to pay half the salary

At Infosys you can work with a non-profit organization and yet earn half your salary, says the IT major.

According to the co-founder Nandan Nilekani, “We've also launched a program where an employee can go work with a non-profit organisation for a year and we'll pay him half the salary for the duration,” he said at an online interview.

The co-founder stated that Infosys is very selective about their recruitment process. He also emphasized that all the job offers will be honored by the company.

Accordign to Nilekani, “We won't have as much work for all our employees right now, so we're encouraging them to contribute to projects on open source and do more innovative work.”

The co-founder added that the company has entered the pharmaceutical, natural resources, media and other emerging markets. He said that around 11 to 12 percent of revenue profits are expected, but this is less when compared to the earlier figures.
