Rajnikanth on Politics and art!

Rajnikanth appealed to the politicians not to mix politics with art. He stated that art and politics should not be intermingled.

Speaking at a function organized by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, he said, “Please don't divide us and don't bring politics into cinema.”

He further added that Tamil and Kannada film industries are like brothers and political happening in

their respective states should not affect their relationship.

The super star also stressed on literary works to be adapted on screen. He stated, “There were many films based on some novels and stories. They were made earlier. I have enjoyed many of the films like Chandavalliya Thota, Sandhya Raaga, Karuneye Kutumbadha Kannu, Chakra Theertha, which were based on some famous Kannada novels. But these days I don't see many films based on novels. I think it would be better if films based on good literary works are made in Kannada.”

Rajinkanth showed interest to play the character of Muddanna in the novel ‘Raktha Rathri’ written by late Ta Ra Subbarao.

Actor Vishnuvardhan was felicitated by Rajnikanth. Both had worked together in few Kannada films earlier.

Prakash Raj, Prabhudeva were among others present at the function.
