Varun granted bail, but to remain imprisoned

Varun Gandhi was granted bail in two cases with regard to his provocative speech in Pilibhit on March 8 and 9. The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bipin Kumar granted bail to Varun but he will remain imprisoned, as Mr. Gandhi was booked under the National Security Act by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The Home Secretary Kumar Kamalesh stated that there is no plan to shift Varun to some other jail as security arrangements are in place in the State to control any unpleasant incidents.
