PMK with AIADMK and DMDK with Congress
Mar 21, 2009

The picture is emergency clear now with the PMK moving towards AIADMK and Vijayakanth’s DMDK deciding to go with the Congress, thereby moving closer to the DMK led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA).

A senior DMK leader stated that the PMK is out of the alliance and DMDK has joined hands with the Congress to be part of the DPA. Earlier Panruti Ramachandran and L K Sudeesh of DMDK visited

Vijayakanth
Delhi to appeal for the ‘drum’ symbol for the party and conducted talks with senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Ahmed Patel.

The final touches are yet to be made in the PMK-AIADMK alliance and a formal announcement is likely on Sunday.

The DMK deferred the interview process to April 2. K Anbazhagan, General Secretary of the party announced that the interview will be held only after the seat sharing is finalized.

The PMK had to take the extreme decision of walking out of the alliance as DMDK and PMK were not willing to be in the same alliance. It is also said that Dr Anbumani Ramdoss wanted to be part of Congress alliance even though the PMK founder was willing to join hands with AIADMK long back. But now looks it that AIADMK has given 7 Lok Sabha and 1 Rajya Sabha seat to PMK the alliance will be sealed.
