Virus to hit computers on April 1

A new worm called Conficker or Downadup is programmed to attack millions of computers world wide on April fool’s Day, it is stated. It is not known whether it is another April fool prank or real. According to a senior security consultant Graham Cluley, the similar type attack happened in January this year and millions of computers were infected in the process.

Microsoft is vulnerable to the worm it is stated. The Conficker can spread through USB flash drivers too.

Does that mean you should not turn on the computers tomorrow? No, there is a way out. Install antivirus protection which is up to date. Security patches and firewall must be in order and should be running on your system. In case the computer is infected there are number of removal tools available, so don’t panic!
