Apple iPad to be launched in April

The much awaited Apple iPad will be launched in the month of April. Apple has chosen April 3 to unveil its new gizmo the iPad in the US and it is expected to launch it in nine other international markets like Japan, UK and others later in the month of April.

This gizmo is specially designed to browse the web, listen to music, video, read digital books and play games. The tablet will have a 9.7 inch touchscreen.

With the announcement of the iPad launch, Apple shares have risen 3.1 percent on Nasdaq and is trading at $217.20 at an all time high.

3G iPads will be launched only later in the month of April. Wi-Fi wireless link will be made available in the market first.

US consumers can book an iPad at the Apple website for both Wi-Fi model as well as the 3G and Wi-Fi from March 12, 2010.
