Damien Martyn questions the Australian players

March 02, 2010 07:19 PM

Former Australian batsman Damien Martyn has left to India to participate in the third season of the Indian Premier League.

He also said that players should be allowed to make their own decision.

He also questioned his fellow mates that, will he be traveling to India if there were any real threats.

"I have a child and a family to consider. Do you think I'd be going or for that matter, Warne, Gilchrist, and Hayden, if we thought it was high risk"—Martyn questioned.

He also said that he has lots of faith in IPL officials in providing a secure tournament.

"The reports we've received suggest nothing has changed. I have the utmost faith in the officials to ensure our safety and that our welfare is top priority. There are no guarantees. Bombs can go off anywhere and we've been on Ashes tours when bombs have exploded"- he added.

"I will stick around the hotel and I won't be heading to the markets like I may have done on past trips"-- he said.
