Indian Road Transportation Awards 2010 by CEAT

The Indian Road Transportation Awards 2010 was announced by CEAT Tyres, a flagship company of RPG Group. This is an effort to recognize and compliment road transport industry achievers.

The criteria for participation are companies with captive fleet; the fleet size should not be more than 50 trucks. The fleet should consist of heavy commercial vehicles and should fleet only transporter materials. The entry is open to all fleet owners across the country.

So, why is this initiative taken? This will be an effort to recognize the excellence of the achievers in the road transportation industry

Vinod Kumar, Head Marketing, CEAT Ltd said, “This initiative of CEAT will provide a platform to bring out the true achievers from across the Indian road industry. We are also proud that the leading auto industry bodies are supporting us for this initiative.”

The awards will be given in six categories

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION

CUSTOMER EXPEREINCE

PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT

TRANSPORT PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR

YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR / ACHIEVER AWARD

An advisory board has been setup to process the awards. The board consists of Mr. Anant Goenka, Deputy Managing Director, CEAT Ltd, Mr. Dilip Chenoy, Director General, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Mr. G.R. Shanmugappa, President, All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC), Mr. Ramesh Agarwal, President, All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA).

Apart from this an independent jury has also been set up. They include Mr. Amit S. Kawoor, Head - Logistics & Customer Operations, Marico Ltd, Mr. Anand Mirchandani, Chief Editor, Transtopics, Mr. Anupam Bhatnagar, Vice President, Mahindra Logistics, Mr. Muthuraj Guruswamy, Consultant, Logistics Executive Recruitment Australia, Mr. Parari A. Patil, Vice President - Supply Chain & Business Development, Lupin Ltd., Mr. Pravin Puntambekar, Vice President, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd, Mr. Sanjay Mane, Independent Logistics & Transportation Consultant, Mr. Sudhanshu Kumar, Chief - Customer Service Division, Tata Steel (TISCO) and Mr. Vikram R. Srihari, Director, JCL Logistics Pvt. Ltd.

The process validators & official tabulators will be Ernst & Young Pvt. Ltd.
