The Hurt Locker dominates the Oscars

The talk at the Oscars this year was ‘The Hurt Locker’. This film bagged 6 Oscars at the 82nd Academy Awards for Best Sound Mixing - Ray Beckett and Ottosson, Sound Editing - Paul N.J. Ottosson, Film Editing - Bob Murawski and Chris Innis, Original Screenplay - Mark Boal, Direction - Kathryn Bigelow and the Best Motion Picture.

The Best Actor award went to Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart.

The Best Actress award went to Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side.

Argentinean Film, The Secret in their Eyes bagged the best foreign language film.

The documentary film ‘The Cove’ bagged the Best Documentary Film.

Avatar also won three Oscars for Best Visual effects, Best Cinematography – Mauro Fiore and Best Art Direction.

Michael Giacchino won the Best Original Score for ‘Up’.

Costume Designer Sandy Powell won the Best Costume Design award for The Young Victoria.

Best Supporting Actress went to Mo’Nique for Precious.

The Best Adapted Screenplay went to Precious, which is based on a novel ‘Push,’ by Sapphire.

Best Makeup award went to Star Trek.

Ryan Bingham and T Bone Burnett won the Oscar for the Best Original Song for ‘The Weary Kind’.

Best Supporting Actor went to Christoph Waltz for Inglorious Basterds.
