Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who came to Chennai to pacify the irked Chief Minister M Karunanidhi visited the later at the hospital today.

Before meeting Karunanidhi, Manmohan Singh also clarified that the Congress will contest the elections with DMK and form the government. This statement came in the wake of Rahul Gandhi calling Jayalalithaa as a like minded leader.

The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh also ruled out the possibility of sending the Indian Army to Sri Lanka as claimed by various political parties in the State including their ally, the DMK. He said that the solution to the Tamil issue should be sought within a united and federal set up.
