A special Palkudam was carried out by devotee
of Mylapore Mundakaniamman temple to commemorate
the Chitirai Pournami. Around 1008 women
devotes took part in the event carrying
Palkudam on their heads. Later Abishekam
was done with the 1008 Palkudams amidst
devotional music. The Abhisekam took place
at 12 noon today for the Goddess in the
Sanctum Santorum. Devotees were given sacred
food and abhisekam milk. Abhisekam was also
done for the Uchavar.
The grand Palkudam function of the 1300
years old temple was organized by temple
trustee member, L Udayakumar, R S Vasudevan,
M Dilli, M Krishnaveni, C Ramanathan and
Temple administrator T. Moganasundaram.
Special puja also was conducted in the evening
for the Uchavar.
