The Tata’s have created a revolution with their low cost car and not satisfied with the success, Tata Housing, a subsidiary of Tata Sons has plunged into low-cost housing under the name Shubh Griha project. The cost of a house will range anywhere between Rs 3.9 lakh to Rs 6.7 lakh.

The maiden project will be launched at Boisar in Mumbai. The financial partner for Shubh Griha project will be SBI and HDFC.

Speaking at the launch, Brotin Banerjee, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TATA Housing said, “This is in continuation of the group’s commitment to providing, quality, innovative products for the common man. We observed that since most of the people in the low income bracket live away from their families to earn a livelihood in the big cities, there is a large percentage of migrant population with people living in either rented or company provided accommodation.”

Applications will be available at SBI branches and the cost of the booklet would be Rs. 200/-. Initial booking amount of Rs.10,000/- should be paid through bank pay order from SBI, Mumbai branches within 20 days of the purchase of application.

Three types of flats will be available. A single bed room flat with hall and kitchen made of 465 sq feet, single bed room flat with large kitchen in an area of 360 sq ft and one room flat with small kitchen of 283 sq ft.
