Following the postponement of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s Chennai visit, the island grounds where the public meeting was supposed to be held today wore a deserted look, except for a few police personnel who were guarding the empty stage. All the arrangements including erection of a huge stage and arrangements made by security agencies for the meeting have gone down the drain, following the rescheduling of the programme.
