Impressive show in rural areas – Class XII results

The Tamil Nadu Class XII State Board Examination results were announced yesterday by the Director of Government Examinations, Vasanthi Jeevanandam. The pass percentage was marked at 83 percent, which is 1.4 percent less compares to last year.

A total of 6,40,844 candidates appeared for the exams of which the pass percentage for boys and girls were 80.3 and 85.5 percent respectively.

The first position was shared by four students B Ramesh of Bharath Montessori Matric Higher Secondary School (HSS), Ilanji, Tenkasi, M Lingeswaran of Bharath Matric HSS in Vijayamangalam, Erode, K C Chinju of S V Mandir Matric HSS, Uthangarai, Krishnagiri and A Praveen of Cheran Matriculation HSS, Karur. They scored a total of 1,183 to catch the top position.

Among students with Sanskrit as first language, four students from DAV Matriculation HSS, Choolaimedu and DAV HSS, Gopalapuram secured 1,190 out of 1,200. Though, their scores are higher than the state rank holders, they were not recognized because of their first language was Sanskrit and not Tamil.

The highest pass percentage is from Virudhunagar district standing at 96.14 percent and this is the 24th consecutive year the district has secured their reputation.
