Diabetics and people with HIV are more susceptible to the Influenza A H1N1 virus, which causes the swine flu, says a report from the World Health Organization. Dr Jai P Narayan, the Director Communicable Diseases, WHO, says, “People living with HIV have a low immune response. Common infection may be life threatening for them.”

Though India is not affected by this deadly flu as yet, the health officials are taking all precautions to keep it

at bay. So far six people, who flew down to India from various foreign destinations, have been quarantined for exhibiting signs of swine flu.

So far 33 countries have reported cases of swine flu and the latest to join this list are Cuba, Brazil, Finland and Thailand.
