The UPA is all set to form the government and the swearing in is likely to take place not before May 21, 2009. Now the next big question is who gets what. There are talks inside the Congress camp that Montek Singh Ahluwalia may be the next finance minister. Montek is now the deputy chairman of the Planning Commission. He will make it to the Cabinet through the Rajya Sabha it is expected.

P Chidambaram may continue as the Home Minister and AK Antony as the defense minister, but the final word is yet to be out.

Since the Congress has got a considerable majority, they may keep major portfolios. Rahul Gandhi may become the next Rural Development Minister in the Cabinet. Some of the young names who may make it to the Cabinet include Sachin Pilot, Jitin Prasada, Sandeep Dikshit.

The rumors that Mamata Banerjee may ask for Railways came to an end as she denied such claims. However, Manmohan Singh’s sister Preetam Kaur who voted for Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata South constituency said, “It would be great if she becomes a minister.”
