A
demonstration took place at the Memorial
Hall, Chennai, yesterday condemning
the killing of innocent Tamils and
demanding the UN intervention to oversee
the relief work in Sri Lanka. Dravidar

Thol Thirumavalavan Dravidar Iyakka
Tamilar Peravai (DITP) leader Suba
Veerapandian formed an organization
called the Movement for Restoration
of Rights of the Eelam Tamils which
will be headed by K Veeramani (DK
leader).
In a press release, Veeramani stated
that the UN should be involved in
distributing food and water to the
refugees in the relief camps in Sri
Lanka.
Meanwhile, a statewide rally has been
announced on May 21st by the Sri Lankan
Tamil Protection Movement (SLTPM)
in support of the Sri Lankan Tamils.
As a member of SLTPM, Vaiko stated
that the rally is to emphasize support
for the Sri Lankan Tamils from countries
like US and UK.
