The
swearing in ceremony of the new government
will take place at around 6.30 pm
today. The first round will have 19
ministers who will take their oath
along with Dr Manmohan Singh. Mr Singh
will become the Prime Minister of
India for the second consecutive time,
a privilege that was enjoyed only
by Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
The list of 19 cabinet ministers to
be sworn in is as follows
1. Pranab Mukherjee (Congress)
2. P Chidambaram (Congress)
3. Jaipal Reddy (Congress)
4. Gulam Nabi Azad (Congress)
5. Veerappa Moily (Congress)
6. Kamal Nath (Congress)
7. Sharad Pawar (NCP)
8. Sushil Kumar Shinde (Congress)
9. BK Handique (Congress)
10. SM Krishna (Congress)
11. Mamta Banerjee (TC)
12. Murali Deora (Congress)
13. Kapil Sibil (Congress)
14. AK Antony (Congress)
15. CP Joshi (Congress)
16. Anand Sharma (Congress)
17. Meira Kumar (Congress)
18. Ambika Soni (Congress)
19. Vyalar Ravi (Congress)
The second round of ministers will
be sworn in on Tuesday. Some of the
names hinted are Salman Khursheed,
Jitin Prasada, Jyotiraditya Scindia,
Jairam Ramesh and Farooq Abdullah.
It may be noted that Arjun Singh (Congress)
and Sibu Soren (JMM) are dropped from
the Congress’ list of ministers.
