The
top three ranks go to the students
from districts in the class X board
examinations, 2009. The SSLC, OSLC,
Matriculation and Anglo Indian Board
results were announced today. Needless
to say the girls outmatched the boys
with a pass percentage of 84.4 when
compared to 78.8 of boys.
In State Board, the total number of
students appeared for the examinations
were 8,22,872 and the pass percentage
stands at 81.6 compared to last year’s
80.9 percent.
The first rank was secured by P M
Jose Rijan of St Mary Goretty HSS
M Karai, Thuckalay scoring 496/500,
followed by J Hepzibah Beulah of Sarahtucker
GHSS Pudukottai, Tirunelveli, A James
Martin of St Mary’s HSS, Madurai,
S Sushma of Saradha HSS, Modachur,
Gopichettipalayam, R Abinaya of Kurinji
HSS, Kavettipatty, Namakkal and S
Thulasiraj of St Isabel’s GHSS,
Pattukottai who scored 495/500. Third
position was shared by, A R Balachandran
of SBK HSS Aruppukottai, S Umaanandhini
of Government GHSS, Vedasandur, Palani,
and R Vimal of PA Vidyabhavan HSS,
Thalappatti, Karur scoring 494/500.
In Matriculation 1,16,586 appeared
for the examination and the pass percentage
was 94 compared to last year’s
93.5. Girls stand at 95.6 percent,
while pass percentage of boys is 92.7.
First rank was bagged by A Bala Priya
Darshini of X’ ANMS, Tuticorin,
490/500 followed by L Dhinesh of Zion
MHSS, Selaiyur, Chengalpattu, 489/500
and third rank shared between A Miruna
Shree of TVS MHSS, Madurai, and K
Sangavi of Kongu Vellalar MHSS, Perundurai,
Erode, scoring 487/500.
In the Anglo-India category, total
number of students appeared were 4,685
and the pass percentage was 95.9 compared
to last year’s 97.4 percent.
Girls topped with 97.7 per cent and
boys 93.5 percent.
First rank goes to L Caroline Silvia
of St Joseph’s AI GHSS, Tiruchi,
486/500, followed by GB Vishnu Priya
of St Joseph’s AI GHSS, Tiruchi,
and R Nivetha of Sacred Heart Con
HSS, Villupuram, scoring 484/500 and
the third rank shared between V Jey
Varshini of Holy Angels AIHSS, T Nagar,
Chennai, S Delicia Jeslyn of St Joseph’s
AI GHSS, Tiruchi, J Rafia Begaum of
Holy Cross AI HSS, Tuticorin, and
R Avithya Vasni of Stanes HSS, Coimbatore,
scoring 483/500.
In OSLC, 1,324 students appeared and
the pass percentage was 92.2 with
girls scoring 94.8 and boys ay 88.8
percent.
Re-totaling application forms will
be issued from June 1st to June 5th
at the government examination offices.
