IIT results announced

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) results are out and around 10,000 students have secured their places in IITs among the four lakh students who appeared for the examination.

Nitin Jain of Delhi topped among the 10,035 students who cleared the examination, the list includes 1,048 girls.

These students will get admission into 15 IITs, IT-BHU and ISM Dhanbad. There are a total of 8,295 seats offered by the IITs this year when compared to the 6,332 offered last year.

With the OBC quota being implemented this year there will be more seats, says Prof Gautam Baruah, Director IIT Guwahati.

Mumbai has the highest number of students who cleared the IIT standing at 2,831.

Counseling will commence from June 9th.
