The DMK has decided to join the UPA-led government, but there is no word of portfolio allocation for the 13 ministers already sworn in yet.

The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will meet around 9.30 am today to discuss the portfolio issue. Final work about the swearing in ceremony will be out only after the discussion it is believed.

It is expected that around 40 Ministers of State and 10 Cabinet ministers may be sworn in on Thursday.

The DMK chief Karunanidhi’s son M K Azhagiri is likely to get Chemicals and Fertilizers, Dayanidhi Maran, Textiles and A Raja, Information Technology & Communication. S S Palanimanickan will be MOS for Finance, D Napolean, Junior minister in Information and Broadcasting, Jegathrekshakan MOS Railways and Gandhiselvan MOS, Rural Development. There is no word about Kanimozhi as of now.
