Prabhakaran’s death confirmed

The LTTE international relations head Selvarasa Pathmanathan confirms the death of their top leader Velupillai Prabhakaran to BBC in a phone interview.

Pathmanathan stated that “The LTTE’s incomparable leader attained martyrdom.”

He added that hereafter LTTE would use non-violent methods to resolve the issue of the Sri Lankan Tamils. The LTTE would agree for a democratic solution to the Tamil population in the Island nation.

With this confirmation the week-long suspense that revolved over Prabhakaran’s death comes to an end.

A week-long mourning has been announced in the LTTE statement, starting from May 25.
