First woman Home Minister

Sabita Indra Reddy will take the credit of being the first woman Home minister in Andhra Pradesh.

Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, sprang a surprise by appointing Sabita as the Minister in-charge of Home.

Sabita represents Maheswaram constituency in Ranga Reddy district. She is the wife of late Indra Reddy, former Home minister of Telugu Desam Party. He was killed in a road accident.

Jana Reddy, the Home Minister in the previous regime, was dropped to make place for Sabita Indra Reddy.
