October 01, 2009 02:15 PM

In a maiden effort taken by the Chennai Police Commissioner, T Rajendran to help children of Chennai Police personnel, a job fair was organized which saw over seven hundred candidates applying for various positions.

Among them, sixteen were given offer letters and two hundred were short-listed.

Speaking on this, T Rajendran, Chennai Police Commissioner said, “Policemen do not have the time to focus on their families and their children's placement after spending twelve grueling hours everyday at work. So we thought we should address this in some way.”

Apart from this, opportunities are waiting for the wives of policemen too. They will soon get a chance to work as insurance agents from home.
