Kolkata
Knight Rider’s management has
announced Delhi Ranji team coach and
former Indian wicket-keeper Vijay
Dahiya as assistant coach for KKR
in the upcoming IPL season.
Reacting to this the former Indian
wicket keeper said that it is good
opportunity for him.
"It's a fantastic opportunity
for someone like me," Dahiya
was quoted as saying by a paper.
He also said that it will be a great
experience to work with the former
Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram, who is
been appointed as a consultant for
KKR.
"Whoever comes as chief coach
would have had a lot of international
exposure that I can benefit from.
In addition, it will be a great experience
working with Wasim bhai (former Pakistan
captain Akram)" – he said.
KKR has planned to get an Indian and
foreign blend in their coaching department.
In the past two seasons KKR did not
had even a single Indian in the coaching
department which was highly criticized.
This comes as an important decision
as they are hoping to turn the fortunes
in the third season of IPL.
Although it is much speculated that
KKR has decided to give the leaders
cap to the former Indian captain Sourav
Ganguly, the management has not yet
confirmed or either denied the news.
Sources close the management say that
there won’t be much surprises
in that decision which clearly says
that it is almost certain that Ganguly
is about to be renamed as the captain
for the next season.
