The
arrest of actress Bhuvaneshwari, charged
with involving in flesh trade, has
created a ruckus in the film industry.
The news published by a Tamil daily
that Bhuvaneshwari had complained
to the police about not arresting
other big time actresses that are
actively involved in flesh trade while
targeting her has shocked the film
fraternity. The issue took a turn
for the worse when the Tamil daily
published the photos of several actresses
claiming them to be involved in flesh
trade as well.
The meeting convened by the Nadigar
Sangam to condemn the newspaper that
published derogatory remarks about
certain actresses in Kollywood along
with their photos took place in Chennai
yesterday (October 7th, 2009). This
meeting was well-attended by several
biggies in the film industry including
Rajinikanth, the Nadigar Sangam President
Sarath Kumar, Vijayakanth, Radha Ravi,
Sathyaraj, Suriya, Vijayakumar, Arun
Vijay, Manjula, Nalini, Seetha, Kuyili,
Radhika Sarath Kumar, Revathy, Rohini
and others.
Speaking at the event, Rajini said
that he would remain silent when he
is very angry and talk more when he
is happy. Though this situation has
made him really angry, he said that
he wished to register his thoughts
and hence spoke out. The Superstar
requested the press not to publish
the photos of those who are involved
in prostitution as most of them are
in a pitiable state and do it for
the sake of money.
Sarath Kumar said that the members
of Nadigar Sangam will not participate
in events that involve the concerned
newspaper. A resolution to this effect
was also passed in the meeting.
While Revathy stressed for the need
for a legal wing in the Nadigar Sangam,
Suriya backed it by extending financial
support for it.
