Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin
has inaugurated a raw water pumping
station in Poondi.
Municipal Administration and Water
Supply Secretary Niranjan Mardi and
Metrowater Managing Director Shiv
Das Meena also took part in the inauguration.
This is the first facility to be inaugurated
among the six works undertaken by
the Chennai Metrowater under the Jawaharlal
Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission
(JNNURM). And this facility is said
to give 100 MLD (million litres per
day) of water to Puzhal water treatment
plant.
This project was completed at a cost
of Rs 9.11 crore. Metro water officials
said that the works totalling Rs.546
crore are being carried out in the
city by the agency. It is executing
28 works in and around the city worth
Rs.2,032 crore.
