Three schoolgirls commit suicide

Three girls have committed suicide yesterday due to their poor performance in exams. All were separate incidents.

They were from Kodungaiyur, Pudupet and Tiruvottiyur.

Incident 1: Kodungaiyur

A girl, native of pollachi hanged herself in her school campus because of her poor performance and poverty. Sources say that she used to stay in the campus and do some part-time work. A Police officer said that a special team has been formed to investigate the exact cause of death.

Incident 2: Pudupet

V. Saran Rose, a 13 year old girl was found hanging in her room at Tiruvenkadam Street yesterday morning.

The police officer who was investigating the matter said that the girl has said to their parents that she performed badly in her quarterly exams. The body was then shifted to the Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Incident 3: Tiruvottiyur

G. Anjali a 14 year old girl from of S.R. Nagar in Tiruvottiyur was found hanging in her room on Sunday evening. She was studying in 9th standard at a private school. Sources say that her parents were out shopping when she allegedly committed suicide.
