The sprint queen PT Usha was denied separate accommodation at the 49th National Open Athletics Championship.

Usha was forced to share a room with six other athletes. When she made a request for a better accommodation the officials refused to provide her with one. A visibly upset Usha was in tears criticizing the Sports Authority of India officials for insulting her.

She was in Bhopal to participate in the national athletic meet. She was accompanied by three students from her academy.

The golden girl, who made the country proud, was reduced to tears as she was forced to run for accommodation from one place to another.
