The National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) staged a candle lit demonstration opposite the Memorial Hall, Chennai to mark the occasion of World Food Day. The agitating women cadres pressed their demands for streamlined distribution of food item through Public Distribution System.

State Secretary P Padmavathi MLA, State leader R Susheela, District Secretary Manjula, Deputy Secretary Meena Sampath M.C and Treasurer Renuka Thomas participated in the demonstration.
