The first day of Tamil month 'Aipasi', known as 'Thula', on October 18, more than hundreds of devotees from various parts of the country are expected to visit Tirupparaithurai a village in this district of Tamil Nadu.

On the occasion the devotees would take the holy dip of 'Thulasthanam' in river Akanda Cauvery between 0630 hrs and 0700 hrs.

It is believed that, taking a bath in the early hours in the Cauvery during Aipasi will bring prosperity.

Goddess Pasumpon Mayilambika Samedha Lord Tharukavaneswarar, the presiding deity of the Tirupparaithurai Siva temple, will be taken out in a procession to the river for giving Theerthavari when the devotees would take holy bath in the river.

The devotees will be chanting Hara Hara Mahadeva and Om Namasivaya.

Special arrangements have been made for the devotees and pilgrims by local panchayat authorities.
