Akram’s wife emergency in Chennai’s Apollo Hospital

Former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram’s wife, Ms Hum Akram, was admitted to Chennai’s Apollo Hospital following an emergency.

Akram and his wife were on a plane that was forced to make an emergency landing in Chennai.

The chartered plane was on its way from Lahore to Singapore for neurosurgery to remove three tumours from her brain.

Akram’s wife developed complications on board, the pilot immediately contacted the Chennai air traffic control and the pilot was given permission to land in Chennai after identifying the patient and her condition.

A waiting Indian Airlines ambulance transported the patient to Apollo Hospital Chennai.
Akram`s wife is reported to be in critical condition and doctors said her condition continued to be critical.

She is accompanied by husband Wasim, her brother, a doctor, a nurse and an attendant.
