Chennai Corporation has decided to outsource security personnel to protect the beautified Marina. These private security personnel will be monitoring Marina round the clock.

The corporation is planning to execute the project at a cost of 17 crores.

Chennai Corporation Commissioner Rajesh Lakhoni said that they are looking for a security arrangement where there will be at least ten guards present at any point of time.

"We are outsourcing the security arrangements. At least ten security personnel will be available at any given point of time. Tenders will be finalised soon"—he said.
