CM calls all political parties to take part in Tamil conference

October 19, 2009 02:19 PM

The ninth World Tamil conference will be held in Coimbatore from 24 June, 2010. The dates for the four-day international conference were announced by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi after the International Association of Tamil Research (IATR) failed to come to a consensus.

The conference will not be a part of the World Tamil Conference organized by the IATR.

The Chief Minister has called for all political party leaders and their cadres across party lines to participate in the event.

Similar conferences were held in the past in the years 1968 (Chennai), 1981 (Madurai) and 1995 (Thanjavur).
