R. H. Rizvi purchased a new Tata Nano car in July from a Lucknow based dealer. The car caught fire while it was parked in a parking lot of a shopping complex in Hazratganj locality in Lucknow, No one was hurt.

"I parked my car in the parking lot of a shopping complex and went to buy some gifts. I was shocked when the parking attendant came rushing to me within 10 minutes saying that the car is on fire", Rizvi explained.

Tata 'NANO', the People's Car from Tata Motors met with a similar incident in Ahmedabad.

It is suspected that some technical fault in the car battery had triggered the fire.

Meanwhile the technical experts blame the position of the battery for such incidents.

An engineer with Tata Motors in Lucknow said, "The car battery is placed under the driver's seat and this is the most potential reason for these fire incidents."

Earlier Tata Motors assured that if they find a manufacturing defect, they will replace the car.
