October 20, 2009 04:28 PM

A grade separator of 22 meters width and 1.2-metre-wide median constructed at the intersection of Pallavaram-Thoraipakkam Radial Road and Velachery Main Road has been completed.

The project has been earlier estimated around Rs 14 crore and the revisions were estimated to around Rs 21 crore. Officials of the Highways Department said that they have completed the project at a cost of Rs 19 crore, since they don’t face any difficulties like land acquisition, encroachment eviction etc.

A 6 lane facility will be made available. If this has been done then it will put a permanent end to traffic difficulties in this area especially for the Tambaram-Velachery route.
