Yuvraj Singh’s father lost the election

Cricketer-turned-politician Yograj Singh, who is the father of Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, lost his maiden election from the Panchakula assembly seat in Haryana.

Yograj was fielded by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and he was defeated by Congress candidate Devender Kumar Bansal by over 12,250 votes.

At one stage, Yograj was trailing in the fourth place, but quickly joined with the other candidates to clinch the runner-up position.

However Yuvraj was not involved in campaign for his father.
