Racial attack on Indians in Australia, Sikh’s turban removed

A 22-year-old Indian man in Australia was punched on his head by a group of Australians, who also removed his turban while he was sleeping at a bus stop.

"The Yarraville man was asleep at a stop near Epping railway station in Cooper Street about 12.45 am on Sunday when a bus pulled into the depot and five males, believed to be between 17 and 19 approached him," reports says.

Where, among those five youths, two tried to attack the Indian man, their three companions tried to stop the assault.

Police informed that they are investigating the "unprovoked" bashing of the 22-year-old Indian youth, who was assaulted.

The name and other details of the victim are not made official.

Indians have become a target of violence in Australia, which is strongly affecting the relationship between the two countries.

Canberra has assured New Delhi that, the Indian students would be taken care of.
