No operations at Mumbai airport on Tuesdays

October 27, 2009 04:33 PM

There will be no traffic at the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) for the next 22 Tuesdays for 6 hours between 12 noon and 6 pm taking into consideration the repair work on the runways.

All airlines have been advised to reschedule their flights to Mumbai accordingly.

Only two airlines operate between the said hours on Tuesday - Kingfisher and Jet airlines both of which have rescheduled their flights suitably.

According to the officials, part of the runway will be available for operations and hence smaller aircrafts like Boeing 737s, ATRs, Airbus 319 and Airbus 320 can run as per schedule.

Two international flights - the Mumbai-London and Mumbai-Singapore - will be affected due to the reconstruction work.

The passengers are requested to keep to their timings to catch their morning flights else they may end up missing their flights, said an official release.

The airport officials will make necessary announcements to keep the passengers informed about any changes.
