The Union shipping minister G K Vasan has said that the controversial Mullaperiyar dam issue between Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be solved soon in a friendly manner.

"I hope the vexed issue between the two states will soon be resolved amicably"—he said.

He also said that errors which were spotted during the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) will be rectified as soon as possible.

"The states will be given proper guidance after some alterations in the NREGS"—he added.
