  120 sovereigns stolen from IT professional’s house

Burglars broke in to a software engineer’s house and stole 120 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth Rs.16 lakh at T T K Nagar in Tambaram on Wednesday.

Ramesh, a software engineer, was away from his home as he was staying with his wife Gomathi, who gave birth to a baby in a hospital, police said. When Ramesh came home on Tuesday night to get some clothes for his wife, to his shock, he found that someone had broken into his house and had stolen the jewellery.

Investigations are on to find the culprits involved in the theft, police said.
