A Vice Principal of a private school was dismissed from services on Monday following a complaint filed by Child Working Committee chairperson Dr. P. Manorama, Bala-chandran, ACP of MKB Nagar police station said.

Manorama had sought legal action against the vice-principal for harassing students. A few students studying in a school at Kodungaiyur had called up the child helpline and complained against their vice-principal Gandhimathi, saying she would beat them up even over trivial issues.

The issue was brought to the notice of Dr. Manorama, who visited the school and conducted an inquiry. A video of the vice-principal beating a student was shot on a cell phone which was sent to Manorama , who in turn, had asked the school to take action against Gandhimathi. Manorama on Monday lodged a complaint with the police after the school management failed to take action against her.
