A Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Party (VCK) poster was torn down in the Thirukkanur area, at the village bus stand on Sunday night. The VCK men immediately took to the streets and staged a road roko, blocking the traffic for more than three hours. The shops in that area remained closed, fearing trouble, for almost half the day.

The poster containing birthday wishes for their leader Thirumavalavan was torn down by some miscreants during the night. Several police personnel were deployed immediately following the incident, fearing group clashes between party members.

Earlier this year, a similar incident had occurred when some miscreants had torn down Thirumavalavan’s poster.
