  Several bridges get facelift in Chennai

Kodmbakkam flyover is all set to undergo a facelift at a cost of Rs 4.74 crore. ‘’Chennai Corporation Mayor M Subramanian said that the renovation works started here on Thursday for which Rs 8.39 crore has been allocated’’. “The civic body has allocated about Rs 8.39 crore for repairing the bridges in the city during 2010-11”.

The bridge that was constructed in 1965 using micro concrete and wet wrapping technologies would go through major restoration. The Mayor said that the existing strip seal joints and the storm water drains in the bridges would be replaced.

Reserve Bank Bridge, Quaide Millath Bridge, Thiru Vi Ka Bridge, Chetpet Bridge and Central Railway Station Bridge are currently undergoing renovation works and it will completed in a year.
