Telugu Desam Party cadres in Andhra Pradesh are unhappy with the Rakth Charithra as there is a widespread feeling that a character in this film is inspired by their late leader NT Rama Rao. The party high command and its cadres feel that the director has based this character, which encourages factionalism in Rayalaseema area, on NT Rama Rao. Angry over the way this character has been portrayed in RC, the TDP President Chandrababu Naidu said, “NTR was never afraid of anything. To show such a person as encouraging factionalism is not correct. You cannot damage the sentiments of people and his followers. You cannot say let family members see it, and if they object we will remove, it is not correct.” Though Ram Gopal Varma came with a weak excuse that this character
is called Sivaji Rao and not NTR, the film’s producers have decided
to chop off the offending scenes to restore peace. |
