BCCI
has said that Gautham Gambhir will
be playing the much awaited match
against Pakistan tomorrow.
After recovering from a minor injury
in the Sri-Lankan tri-series Gambhir
cleared a fitness test in Mumbai last
week. However the opener did not get
a place in the warm-up match against
New-Zealand in which India lost very
badly.
There have been lots of speculations
about his fitness. In order to put
an end to it BCCI has announced that
the Delhi opener will be playing in
the match against Pakistan tomorrow.
BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said,
"He was cleared by the BCCI experts
when he underwent a fitness test in
Mumbai before the team's departure.
I understand he's playing in the first
match."
India faced a major setback when Yuvraj
Singh was ruled of the champion’s
trophy with an injury. In the absence
of Shewag, Zaheer Khan and Yuvraj
Sing, Gambhir’s fitness will
play a vital role in the Indian camp.
