Former
South African Batsman and one of the
greatest fielders in the game Jonty
Rhodes has come up with a new idea
regarding power plays.
Rhodes said all the power plays (including
batting and fielding) should be taken
within the 31st over of the match.
“All the power play over’s,
including the one by the batting side,
should be taken by the 31st over.
They could bring in this rule. This
way could have plenty of action between
over’s 20 and 30. And the last
twenty over’s are bound to be
interesting in any case,”—he
said.
He also said that Twenty20 format
has made lots of changes especially
in the South African cricket.
“A lot of families are coming
to watch the game which is good. The
stands are getting filled up in south
Africa,”—he said.
Rhodes all said that Twenty20 cricket
has brought lots of changes in fielding
standards.
“Twent20 has made the game faster.
The batsmen are playing lots of strokes
and the standard of fielding has gone
up.”—he said.
