  Sep 01, 2010 10.33 AM

Chennaites experienced a different kind of rain on Tuesday when people saw currency notes pouring on them from the top of a flyover.

Locals in Vyasarpadi will not complain about the currency rain they experienced on Tuesday. There was a huge traffic jam in Vyasarpadi when a lorry met with an accident with another vehicle on a bridge. People standing under the bridge, watching the proceedings, were stunned when they saw a deluge of currency notes started pouring down from the bridge. Currencies, of denominations 10, 50 and 1000, spilt from the cracks developed on the bridge. The residents and passers-by were seen frantically picking notes that were lying on the road and flying above them.

No one has claimed ownership of the money as yet. The Vyasarpadi police have started an enquiry on the issue.
